The ores are usually rich in iron oxides and vary in color from dark grey, bright yellow, or deep purple to rusty red. The iron is usually found in the form of magnetite, hematite, goethite (FeO(OH), 62.9% Fe), limonite (FeO(OH)·nCH20), 55% Fe) or siderite. India has a rich source of Iron ore and the mineral can be procured from the source

Activated Charcoal is charcoal that has been treated with oxygen. The treatment results in a highly porous charcoal. It is made at very high temperatures and as a result, activated charcoal is a substance which is almost one hundred percent composed of carbon.

Benefits of Activated Charcoal and Its medical uses:

  • Poisoning by various chemical substances, drugs, toxic heavy metals, alkaloids
  • Overall body detoxification
  • Food poisoning
  •  Treating stomach pain caused by excess gas, diarrhoea , or indigestion
  • Body odour and bad breath
  • Hepatitis: chronic and acute viral
  • Withdrawal syndrome (as a rule, is used for drinking, not for drug addiction)
  • Intoxication caused by chemotherapy or radiotherapy
  • Various skin ailments
  • Inflammation
  • Helps lower cholesterol, triglycerides and lipids found in the blood.
  • Whitening of teeth.

Environmental applications:

  • Used in water filtration systems
  • Spill clean-up
  • Groundwater remediation
  • Drinking water filtration
  • Air purification
  • Volatile organic compounds capture from painting, dry cleaning, gasoline dispensing   operat ions, and other processes.

Agricultural applications

  • Seed Protection
  • Time-release nutrient delivery
  • Herbicide catalyst
  • Decolourisation and Purification

Other applications

  • Distillation of Alcohol
  • Gas purification
  • Chemical purification
  • Mercury scrubbing
